Jeanne Labreaque has been contacted by our Public Policy Committee and we are waiting to hear if she will add Recreation Therapy as a service on the A&D Medicaid waiver. The committee is considering submitting a request to Terre Haute mayor, Kevin Burke regarding a possible proclamation in Terre Haute to raise awareness about our conference. Conference Committee Keynote Speakers Thursday Peter Bisbecos Friday Dr. Bryan McCormick Student Track We will not be formally be providing a student track this year due to poor attendance last year, but we will provide a few presentations geared toward our student membership. Kelly Carson will be organizing the Student Volunteers Post Conference Kelly Carson will be providing a post conference entitled Living Life to the Fullest which will also be open to the community. It will be held in the conference room at the Drury Inn the Saturday after the conference. The proceeds will benefit the ATRA Medicare Project. Social We are moving forward with plans to utilize an outdoor adventure facility in Terre Haute. The plan is to have a cookout and also do some high ropes course activities utilizing the ISU Recreation Therapy Students to implement the activities. This facility is dry (no alcohol). We plan to have the social end early enough to encourage those who wish to party opportunity to do so afterward. Registration Forms We will be including the Pre-Registration Form in the Summer Newsletter Membership Committee The Membership Cards and Surveys were sent out last month (Thanks to Miranda and Kristen). We have already received 58 surveys back. We also received some with wrong addresses that were returned Rec-Connect Bridget is heading up this program. We still need to fill the Moderator positions. She said one person has contacted her with interest to fill one of these positions so far. Communications Committee Newsletter is over one month late (my apologies) due to a new job and a recent computer crash. I am hoping to get the Summer Newsletter out this week. I (Holly) would like to begin the process of passing the newsletter on to someone else. If you are interested, please contact me immediately. ATRA Update CAC Report membership from RTI has decreased significantly New ATRA board members from RTI Dr. Bryan McCormick and Vicki Scott Scholarship for RTI members to share at the ATRA Conference in Salt Lake City, UT RTI Basket we want to include simple everyday items cheap interventions used in daily practice of RT in an RTI Tote Bag as well as anything we can think of from Indiana.
